How to Beat Final Coil Turn 3 on your FFXIV Account Part 4

Final Coil Turn 3

New and veteran FFXIV Account holders were shown the critical parts of the third phase of the Phoenix fight in our last article. In today’s guide we will tackle the fourth and final phase of the Final Coil of Bahamut Turn 3 in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. We will also check out the loot available to players who complete this raid.

Fountains on your FFXIV Account

Upon reaching 52% health, the Phoenix will enter its fourth and final phase. During this phase a new mechanic is introduced: Fountain of Fire. This ability places a puddle of flames that will periodically buff the boss improving its attack and defense.

To prevent the boss from getting these buffs, a Final Fantasy 14 account holder can have his character stand in the puddle. If this is done, the character will take damage while they are in the puddle. Additionally, a stacking debuff will be placed on them that will increase the damage they will take. Ideally, your party’s off-tank will take four of the debuffs, while each DPS will take two debuffs until the fountain has disappeared.

FFXIV Account holders against pinions

Aside from the fountain, Final Fantasy XIV account holders will also need to avoid attacks from Scorched Pinions the boss summons. These small burning birds have two attacks. The first is a fiery column AoE that can easily be dodged by players. Their second attack causes them to tether themselves to a random player. They will then rush to the player dealing heavy damage to anyone in the way and their target. Tethered targets have no way to avoid the damage, but other players can simply move out of the Pinion’s path to avoid taking damage.

Be advised that throughout the phase, Phoenix will still use its Brand of Purgatory and Revelation combo. This is on top of the Fountain of Fire and the Pinions.

Loot for FFXIV Account holders

Completing the Final Coil of Bahamut Turn 3 will reward players with 30 Allagan Tomestone of Poetics. Additionally, players will get Carbontwine from completing the raid. The boss also has a chance to drop Dreadwyrm gear with item level 130.
