How the free class system works

A lot of today’s MMORPGs make class selection part of character creation. This effectively binds your character to one class. Some games even go as far as making certain classes specific to a race or gender. While some games try to break this by “subclass” mechanics at higher levels, it is often costly and complicated. With FFXIV Class System however, characters by default have no specific class. There is no need to for costly FFXIV items or even FFXIV Gil if you want to change classes at any time. All you have to do is change the weapon you are using while out of combat. Simple. Easy. Genius!

Unlocking class

While great, the free class system in FFXIV does have a limitation, specifically, class unlocking. Before you can use a class you have unlock it at the various class-specific guilds spread in the world. This means, spending in-game currency for fare. Thankfully, it’s something that can be done as early as level 10. So get it out of the way early and have fun!

A Community Like No Other

An MMORPG’s community is as important as any aspect of the game in terms of making a player stay playing. If an MMORPG like Final Fantasy XIV has an awful community as if it is compared to a game having a bad gameplay, more likely players will quit. For me, it is a...
