Borderland Ruins

New PvP mode for more FFXIV Gil

Starting with patch 2.3, Final Fantasy XIV Gil hunters who enjoy PvP can fight other FFXIV Gil hunters through the Frontline PvP battlegrounds. This pits members of the three Grand Companies in a battle for supremacy. Each side can have up to 72 players broken into three raid groups of 24. The newest addition to the Frontline is Borderlands Ruins (Slaughter). The latter has been added by Patch 2.5 Before the Fall.

Requirements for FFXIV Gil hunters

Players planning to duke it out with other players to get FFXIV items and bragging points will need to have a level 50 Disciple of War or Magic. Their character will automatically have his or her items level synced to item level 80. Note that each run of Borderlands Ruins (Slaughter) only lasts fifteen minutes.

Unlocking it for your FFXIV Gil hunter

The Borderlands Ruins (Slaughter) can be unlocked for your character by completing a quest for your Grand Company. The quest that needs to be completed in this case is Like Civilized Men and Women. For members of The Maelstrom it can taken from Trachraet in Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (x12, y12). Members of The Order of the Twin Adder can get it from Scarlet in New Gridania (x9, y11). Lastly, Mimio Mio in Ul’dah – Steps of Nald (x8, y9) has it for The Immortal Flames members.

After completing the required quests, members then need to talk to a specific member of their Grand Company to gain access. For The Maelstrom, this is Foreign Levy Flyer in Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (x12, y12). The Order of the Twin Adder has Yellow Serpent Flyer in New Gridania (x9, y11). While the go to person for The Immortal Flames is Free Brigade Flyer in Ul’dah – Steps of Thal (x8, y9).
