Getting your FFXIV Gil hunter in

Final Fantasy XIV Gil hunters who want to get loot from this dungeon, must first clear a few quests to unlock it. They will need to get the For All the Nights to Come sidequest. This however requires that character to have a level 51 Disciple of War or Magic. The quest can be take from Wealdtheow. This NPC can be found in Coerthas Western Highlands (x16, y22). Note that you will first need to clear the main scenario quest Sounding Out the Amphitheatre to be eligible for this quest.

FFXIV Gil hunters versus the Oliphaunt

The first boss of this dungeon in FFXIV is the Towering Oliphaunt. The boss has a ability called Rear that is uses to cast an area of effect attack centered on itself. During the fight, the Oliphaunt will also use Rock of Ages. This will mark a random target which will be stunned shortly. Note that there is no way to avoid the stun. The boss will then use AoE skills on the stunned player. Afterwards the boss will use Wooly Inspiration – a conal attack – on the stunned player. The boss also uses a charging attack called Rout during the fight. Lastly, the Towering Oliphaunt also has Prehistoric Trumpet. This deals moderate damage to the entire party. Healers need to simply heal their allies through these skills while they dwindle down the boss’ health.

FFXIV Gil hunters put Ser Yuhelmeric to rest

The second boss of the Dusk Vigil dungeon is Ser Yuhelmeric. The first thing you’ll notice as you enter the boss’ room is the corpses on the floor. During the fight, Yuhelmeric will revive these as adds. Be careful as they can use AoE attacks. The boss himself will occasionally use Death Spiral. This is an AoE attack that deals massive damage to players not in melee range. Aside from this skill and the adds, the boss has nothing else that is a big threat.
