Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn’s patch 2.4 added a hard mode for the Sastasha Seagrot dungeon. Final Fantasy XIV account holders can earn FFXIV items and FFXIV Gil from the new mobs and bosses encountered in it. We wrote this guide to help players get through the dungeon quicker.

Sastasha Seagrot

Gaining entry to hunt FFXIV Gil

The Sastash Seagrot (Hard) dungeon is design for FFXIV account holders with a Disciple of War or Magic at level 50. Final Fantasy XIV Gil hunters will need to first complete The Ultimate Weapon main scenario quest for this dungeon. Once done, they can then talk to Bloezoeng in Revenant’s Toll in Mor Dhona (x22, y8) to take the It’s Definitely Pirates quest. This will then unlock the dungeon. Parties can only have up to four members with each member having an average item level of 80 or higher.

Taking on Karlabos for FFXIV Gil

The first boss of the dungeon is Karlabos. This giant scorpion is encountered after draining a pool. Players will need to be wary of several skills this boss uses as it can easily wipe relaxed players. The first skill to watch out for is Aqua Balls. This ability applies a Slime debuff on a target player. This will deal several hundred damage and MUST be removed quickly.

The reason Slime needs to be cleared quickly is because of Karlabos’ Tail Screw attack. When done casting, this will deal damage to random player reducing them to 1% HP. If the debuff is still on them, then the damage tick can and will kill them before any heals land. The only way to avoid this situation is to interrupt Karlabos when he casts Tail Screw.

At 50% HP, the boss will start using Prey. This ability will be used on the character with the highest enmity. It will mark a character then pull them in and stun them for eight seconds. Note however that the mark can be passed by running into target. If your tank or healer is not up to task for an eight second stun, then consider passing the mark.

Wenches, brines and FFXIV Gil

After the first boss, players will run into a group of Drowned Courtesans and a Drowned Wench. Take out the courtesans first before focusing on the wench. Note that the latter will summon Brines which will greatly heal the wench if they reach her. Make sure to take the Brines out to make your life easier.
