Introduced by the Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn expansion Heavensward, the new Splendors Exchange gives FFXIV Gil hunters a new way to get experience and Gil. To be more precise, Disciples of the Hand and Land can use the new system to gain cheap FFXIV Gil, levels and scrips for collectible items. We will go over these in today’s article.

Getting your FFXIV Gil hunter to start collecting

The Splendors Exchange is run by the NPC Rowena. Final Fantasy XIV Gil hunters can turn in collectible items at the exchange to earn experience points, scrips and Gil if they do not want to buy FFXIV Gil. Before this can be done however, they will first need to clear this new system’s introductory quest. Available from Morgayne at the Foundation (x10, y10), the quest Inscrutable Tastes requires characters to have a Disciple of the Land or Hand class at level 50. They must also have finished the main scenario quest The Better Half.

As pointed out, players can turn in collectible items to get rewards. These items however can only be crafted or gathered. Additionally, how much you’ll get depends on the collectability of the item. This can be seen in the item’s stats just below the Condition of the item.

Crafting collectible for FFXIV Gil

Crafting collectible items is quite simple. First off, you will need to use the Collectable Synthesis command. This will then add the Collectable Synthesis status on your character. Once you have this status, you will then be given the option to finish an item as a collectable when a synthesis is successful. Note that you will be able to see the Collectability Rating of the item when you are given the option. Additionally, collectable items can still be converted to their normal counterparts through the subcommand menu. This is important since collectables cannot be traded or sold.

FFXIV Gil from gathered collectibles

Collectable items can also be obtained through Gathering. This is done by first using the Collector’s Glove command. Afterwards, items gathered will have an option to be received as a collectable. Note that not all items collected this way can be turned in at the Splendors Exchange due to a rarity requirement. Players however can use Aetherial Reduction to get an item with greater rarity.
