Fighting off pirates – The Maelstrom

Headed by Merlwyb Bloefhiswyn, this Great Company is a company of sea-faring warriors dedicated to protecting Limsa Lominsa. Made up primarily of the Lominsan Armada, players can expect to face fierce pirates for dominion of the sea.  Characters can sign up to help recover pirate FFXIV Gil booty with this Grand Company by talking to First Storm Lieutenant Guincum.

FFXIV Gil and item benefits from the Maelstrom

The Maelstrom are fierce warriors and the FFXIV items you can obtain while in their service reflect this. Disciples of War, especially tank type classes will benefit from Maelstrom set equipment. Note that GC gear will be weaker compared to dungeon and raid, but it will still be much better that FFXIV Gil bought armor from regular NPCs.
