My Very First Final Fantasy Game

I am pretty sure I am not the only one with this story. I did not play any Final Fantasy game prior to me creating my FFXIV Account and starting with Final Fantasy XIV. No, please don’t take swings at me saying “how could you miss all the Final Fantasy series?! They (insert profanity) fantastic!” or “you are pathetic” and anything that a Final Fantasy fanboy would say to me for missing out on all those games. So am I the only one who didn’t play any Final Fantasy prior to FFXIV: A Realm Reborn?

Final Fantasy is a Gem of Gaming

Whew! There’s this one dude in Reddit that spoke up on not being able to play any previous Final Fantasy title before FFXIV:ARR. I am not the only one! Hooray! Here is his post:

“Sometimes you’re sure that a game is great before even trying it.

I may count lots of games that I felt this way. Maniac Mansion, Sanitarium, Disciples, Papo& Yo, Journey, Virtue’s Last Reward, Brothers, P4G, Gone Home, Bioshock, Kentucky Route Zero etc etc.

Now I feel it for Final Fantasy XIV:A Realm Reborn. The problem is, I never played a Final Fantasy game before.

Yes I know that there’s a trial on store but I want to ask someone who knows FF games that if it would be pointless to play it without knowing nothing about lore.

Come on guys, please convince me.”

FFXIV-gil-intro

To be honest I was also skeptical about Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn when I was first invited by my friends. Again, I did not play FFVII, FFVIII or any of the other FF series. All I knew was the protagonists’ name which were Buster Sword, Gunblade and that hot tutor in your highschool that you wish was single and ready to mingle, Quistis. Yeah, she was perfect. Anyways, enough of my daydreaming. Back to actually starting with FFXIV:ARR. Wow, my first seconds in the world of FF were amazing. I really felt that I was in another world and I really roleplayed as if I was a real girl Miqo’te. The game was so immersive graphics wise and gameplay wise. So yeah, I really loved the game from the get go.

Hopefully the one who posted on dwelling to play FFXIV:ARR came up with the decision to play and dedicated most of his free time in the game.

A Whole New World: Reactive Area and Living World

No MMORPG is perfect, that for sure I can say. There will always be suggestions on how to improve the game even if those opinions are quite not needed. I get that even the littlest part of the game could be done better because I, too, have those sentiments sometimes....

A Community Like No Other

An MMORPG’s community is as important as any aspect of the game in terms of making a player stay playing. If an MMORPG like Final Fantasy XIV has an awful community as if it is compared to a game having a bad gameplay, more likely players will quit. For me, it is a...
