Which is Better, ESO or FFXIV?

There is always no justice every time you compare two MMORPG’s. The players of MMO #1 will say that their game is better than MMO #2 and MMO #2 players will say that their game is better than MMO #1. There is no really way to tell which one is better than the other. In […]

There is always no justice every time you compare two MMORPG’s. The players of MMO #1 will say that their game is better than MMO #2 and MMO #2 players will say that their game is better than MMO #1. There is no really way to tell which one is better than the other. In other words, we shouldn’t compare. But what if a comparison will help someone decide which game to play?

FFXIV Gold: The Question

NJDevilsFans7576 asked this in the FFXIV subreddit:

“Hey guys, before I re-ask the same question, A little background about myself. Im a huge fan of MMO’s of all shapes and sizes. I played WoW since BC, Aion when it wasnt bad, Rift before and happily after it went free to play with a whole bunch of little names in between. Recently, I havent held a sub for a game in a while and I am thinking about diving back into a game. I tried a free to play title called Firefall but I have a gut feeling end game content wont be there. So, my open ended question, Which game is doing better right now? Final Fantasy XIV or Elder Scrolls Online. I am mostly a PvE and end game oriented person and I am close to getting to that on both games. What do you think Reddit? BTW: Ill be posting this on both ESO and FF14 subreddits, I really want to hear some feed back or pro’s and con’s to both.”

Good thing he said that he will post the same question in ESO subreddit because for sure answers will be biased.

Final Fantasy XIV Gil: Answers from FFXIV subreddit

Good thing there was one who answered with biased and unbiased opinion:

Biased opinion: FFXIV is everything a traditional MMO should be. Constant, consistent updates. Challenging content. Loads of things to do. Good artistic direction. Fantastic soundtrack.

Unbiased opinion: ESO has been met with fairly negative reviews, while FFXIV has been praised for things it does right. FFXIV had a rocky relaunch due mostly to unexpected turn out. Recently, with the introduction of Hunts, rendering issues have become more apparent. New endgame raids are released fairly consistently on a six month cycle, but if you’re a hardcore type who chases World First progression, you’ll be left with a lot of free time between patches.

ESO or FFXIV

The best way to find the answer is to play both games but it’s time consuming. Hopefully the original poster found his answer already.

A Whole New World: Reactive Area and Living World

No MMORPG is perfect, that for sure I can say. There will always be suggestions on how to improve the game even if those opinions are quite not needed. I get that even the littlest part of the game could be done better because I, too, have those sentiments sometimes....

A Community Like No Other

An MMORPG’s community is as important as any aspect of the game in terms of making a player stay playing. If an MMORPG like Final Fantasy XIV has an awful community as if it is compared to a game having a bad gameplay, more likely players will quit. For me, it is a...
