The Heavensward Official Benchmark tool has been released a few days ago. With it, new and veteran FFXIV account holders can check if their computers are able to run the upcoming expansion. More importantly, it gives players a preview of the content of the new expansion. To celebrate this, the My FFXIV Au Ra contest is being held.

How FFXIV Account holders can join

From April 28 to May 11, players can participate in the My FFXIV Au Ra contest. To join the contest, Final Fantasy XIV account holders need to download the Heavensward Benchmark tool and create a new character belonging to the new Au Ra race. A screenshot of this character then needs to be posted via Twitter along with the following:

  • #FFXIV and #MyFFXIVAu_Ra hashtags
  • Name of your Character and World
  • A mention of @FF_XIV_EN

Only one Twitter account per entry is allowed. However players can submit an entry using their account once each day. All entries must follow Twitter rules. For more information about the contest rules, check the official announcement here.

What FFXIV Account holders can get

There will be 200 winners for the contest. These will be selected by the FFXIV Community and Operations teams. Criteria for judging include originality and overall creativity. The lucky Final Fantasy 14 account holders will receive a Scarf of Wondrous Wit in-game on May 29. Note that each account may only win once despite being allowed to send multiple entries.

Benchmarking tool for FFXIV Account holders

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is one of the MMORPGs that offer incredibly detailed and lush graphics. With the upcoming Heavensward expansion, players expect nothing less. All the fancy graphics however means that players will need powerful computers to run the expansion. This is where the Benchmarking tool comes into play. With it, players can see if the performance of their PC is enough for the expansion.

Aside from seeing if your PC is up to task, the official benchmark for the expansion gives players a sneak peek of Heavensward. With it players can play around with a character creation tool featuring the new Au Ra race. Players can also check out the new areas that will be available in the expansion.
