Unlike most MMORPGs, dungeons in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn play differently once they are in more difficult modes. The Copperbell Mines (Hard) dungeon, for example, features new monsters and play mechanics for adventurous FFXIV account holders. Final Fantasy XIV account holders also get better FFXIV items after clearing a hard mode dungeon. We’ll guide you how to do just this.
Requirements for FFXIV Gil hunters
Final Fantasy XIV Gil hunters will first encounter the item level restriction mechanic in this dungeon. For those unaware, items in Final Fantasy 14 have an item level. This is an indication of how strong the item is. Copperbell Mines (Hard) requires FFXIV Gil hunters to have an average item level of at least 48.
Other requirements for entry include completing or starting the quest Out of Sight, Out of Mine from the main storyline. Players will also need to talk to Huguber in MorDhona to unlock the dungeon.
Rockpiles, Dustbunnies and FFXIV Gil
One of the first thing players will notice in the hard mode dungeon is that the Gigas have already escaped their rocky prisons. There will also be rockpiles blocking paths in the mines. The player party will need to clear these piles before they can proceed. To make things challenging however, groups of Dust Bunnies will regularly attack the party while they attempt to clear the rockpiles.
Defeating the Mastermind for FFXIV Gil
Hecatoncheir Mastermind is the first boss of this Hard mode dungeon. While the boss itself has simple attacks, the first has a particularly lethal mechanic. Players will notice that the area the boss fight takes place in is a simple bridge. Periodically, the boss will cast Darkfire setting a portion of the bridge on fire. At the same time, a Flamebeau will spawn and head towards the blazing parts of the bridge. The party must focus down the Flamebeau before it reaches the flames. If they do reach the flames, they will cast self-destruct and instantly kill nearby characters.
