Slime management on your FFXIV Account

The boss of the Binding Coil of Bahamut Turn 1 is Caduceus. This large serpent has a stacking buff called Steel Scales that gradually increase its damage to the tank. Final Fantasy XIV account holders will need to keep this buff in check if they do not wish to wipe.

The way to control the debuff is through the Slime adds that are spawned in the room. Players will notice that the hexagonal platforms will occasionally glow throughout the fight. If a player is on a platform when this happens, a Slime add will spawn. On death, the Slime will explode. If it is near Caduceus it will restore health to the boss equal to its health at death. However, this will also cause it to lose a stack of the Steel Scales buff. As such, make sure to lower the Slime’s health before bringing it close to the boss.

Finishing Caduceus on your FFXIV Account

The second major mechanic of the fight is Caduceus splitting into two. This happens when the boss reaches around 65% HP. The two bosses will have the same amount of Steel Scales that will be individually lowered. Final Fantasy 14 account holder needs to make sure that the two are kept away from each other. This is because they can merge together and have their buffs added. Other than this, the fight continues as normal with Caduceus using cleave attacks, and a ranged attack that can slow party members.

Items and Tomes for FFXIV Account holders

Completion of the raid will reward players with ten Allagan Tomestones of Soldiery and five TomeStones of Poetics. Additionally, players can loot item level 90 equipment in the raid. The gear that can be obtained include Allagan Bracelets, Earrings, Rings and a set of Allagan armor.

Crystal Tower and Hildibrand Overview

Crystal Tower was the very first raid-like instance in Final Fantasy XIV. Coil of Bahamut was not really raid-like for me way back because it was just like a dungeon but double the number of people inside. Honestly, it was just like the Primal fights but of course,...
