The Binding Coil of Bahamut is the first of the endgame raids added for veteran FFXIV account holders. This raid has been divided into several parts called Turns. Each having several bosses and unique mechanics. In today’s guide we will cover the first Turn which was added in Patch 2.0.
How FFXIV Account holders can enter the dungeon
The Binding Coil of Bahamut Turn 1 can be found in Eastern La Noscea. Final Fantasy XIV account holders who have characters at level 50 for a Disciple of Magic or War class can participate in it. They will first need to clear the Primal Awakening quest which is available after clearing Titan on Hard. Additionally, characters will need to have an average item level of 70 or more to enter the raid. Thankfully, despite being an endgame raid, party roles are relax, although it is still advised to pick suggested classes to make the fights easier.
FFXIV Account holders vs defense systems
The first major enemy Final Fantasy 14 account holders will encounter in the Coil is the Allagan Defense System otherwise shortened to ADS. This mini-boss as a DPS check as players only have four minutes to destroy it otherwise it auto-wipes the party. This is shown via a Click Timer that shows how many clicks before the ADS detonates. There are four clicks, with each lasting one minute.

During the fight the boss will go through a set of abilities. The first is High Voltage which deal electric damage to the whole part. It will apply a paralyze effect on everyone that CANNOT be debuffed by Esuna. Thankfully, the skill can be interrupted. As such, it is advisable to have classes that can silence the boss.
The next skill the mini-boss will use is Repelling Cannon. This is a point-blank AoE that deals massive damage. Melee damage dealers and tanks should avoid getting hit by this skill. The last skill in the ADS’ skill rotation is Piercing Laser. The latter is a column attack that can easily be avoided.
Throughout the fight, the ADS will also summon adds. These come as defense or attack nodes. An off-tank should pull these as the team focuses them down. Defense nodes have a Repelling Cannon attack while attack nodes will place void zones under random party members.
