AoEs, comets and meteors on your FFXIV Account

During the fight the boss, Tioman will use a variety of AoE attacks. Aside from his conal breath attack, he will use Chaos Blast. Final Fantasy XIV account holders will then be targeted with circular AoEs. The boss will also fire several line AoEs.

Throughout the fight, Tioman will also use Comet. This will cause AoE circles to appear around the room, damaging players who stand in them. The skill will also target two random players. Meteors will then spawn and head towards where the players were standing. Note that there is a small of period of time between the players being marked and the meteors appearing. As such, players should position themselves such that the meteors falls away from the party. These rocks from space deal room wide damage that gets larger, the close you are to the impact point.

Wings and FFXIV Account holders

Once Tioman drops to around 45% health, he will head towards the center of the room and become invulnerable. He will then raise his wings which will be susceptible to damage. During this time a random player will be marked. Every few seconds comets will fall from the sky and hit where the player is standing. As such, marked players should continually move to avoid getting hit.

The boss’ invincibility goes away when both wings are destroyed. However, note that once one of the wings is destroyed, the remaining wing will be restored to full health. As such, Final Fantasy 14 players should focus down the wings one at a time. Take care of the wings and the fight will return to its normal AoE filled phase until the boss is dead.

Rewards for FFXIV Account holders

Clearing the Sohm Al dungeon will reward players with Allagan Tomestones of Soldiery and Poetics. The bosses also have a chance to drop Woad equipment. These require level 53 and have an item level of 130. The final boss Tioman can also drop weapons such as the Grandeur, Ox Tongue, and Coffinmaker.

Crystal Tower and Hildibrand Overview

Crystal Tower was the very first raid-like instance in Final Fantasy XIV. Coil of Bahamut was not really raid-like for me way back because it was just like a dungeon but double the number of people inside. Honestly, it was just like the Primal fights but of course,...
