Phase 2 of your FFXIV Gil hunter’s fight

At 70% health the second phase starts. Here, Rafflesia fight uses the same mechanics as the first except for a two additions. The first is the use of the Blighted Bouquet skill. While this is being cast, any Final Fantasy XIV Gil hunter moving, attacking or using skills will instantly die. As such, make sure to idle your character while the skill is being used by the boss.

The other skill in Phase 2 to watch out for is Viscid Emission. This will place Honey debuff on a random player. The honey will then summon a Dark Matter Hornet add that will attack the debuffed player. This add needs to be killed as it can use Final Sting to kill its target. Note that additional adds will be summon as long as the debuff is active. Honey can only be removed by the character’s death, or if the character is devoured by Rafflesia.

Slugs, honey and FFXIV Gil

At 40% health the boss enters Phase 3 of the battle signaled with the use of Leafstorm. This ability deals heavy damage to all players. Afterwhich, Rafflesia will summon three Dark Matter Slugs. Take out two of these while keeping one alive. Shortly after summoning the adds, the boss will use Acid Rain to damage players as well as summon three Acidic Honey adds. The latter will continually apply the Acid Cloud stacking debuff on players. This deals constant damage on players that increases with more stacks. To avoid getting killed by this, have the slug eat the honey adds, and then kill it.

Finishing Rafflesia for FFXIV Gil

While all of the above is happening, Rafflesia will continue to use Thorn Whip. It will also start using Rotten Stench. This line AoE attack will target a randomly marked player. The damage is split among all those hit so ensure that majority of the party is in the attack’s line of fire to minimize damage. Clearing the raid rewards players with 20 Allagan Tomestones of Soldiery and 10 Allagan Tomestones of Poetics.

Crystal Tower and Hildibrand Overview

Crystal Tower was the very first raid-like instance in Final Fantasy XIV. Coil of Bahamut was not really raid-like for me way back because it was just like a dungeon but double the number of people inside. Honestly, it was just like the Primal fights but of course,...
