The preliminary patch notes for Before the Fall update for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn was released last week. It’s a bit of a long read, so to spare fellow FFXIV account holders, we went through it and picked out the juiciest bits. Get ready to earn more FFXIV Gil and FFXIV items as this patch adds a lot of new content.

New dungeons to get FFXIV Gil from

Final Fantasy XIV account holders can challenge themselves in three new dungeons that will be added by the patch. Choose from The Keeper of the Lake, The Wanderer’s Palace (Hard), and Ampador Keep (Hard). Note that all three dungeons require your Final Fantasy XIV Gil huntersto have a Disciple of War or Magic class at level 50. They all also require a lite party of four and have a maximum run time of 90 minutes.

Changes to your FFXIV Gil hunter’s house and looks

For players who are into the housing system, the new patch will now allow Retainers to be placed on your estate grounds. Specifically, you can now have your retainers do their duties outside the hall. This of course requires a brand new permit.

Meanwhile Free companies get a new machine to tinker around with. Before the Fall adds Aetherial Wheels. These can be placed and used to store energy. The latter can then be used for company actions without using up your company’s store of credits.

New Side Story quests to do for FFXIV Gil

Fans of Hildibrand and Delivery Moogle quests rejoice! The upcoming Before the Fall patch adds new quests to these side stories. Watch out for a brand new questline for Eorzea’s premiere investigator, starting with Shades of Sil’dih.  Meanwhile, able couriers can take on new quests Thanks for your Support and Hostages to Fortune. Note that side story quests for the new dungeons have also been added.
