Unlocking the Trial for your FFXIV Gil hunter

The Cape Westwind Trial is unlocked as your FFXIV Gil hunter goes through the main story quests. It is designed for Final Fantasy XIV Gil hunters at level 49. As previously mentioned, the Trial requires a party comprised of eight members. Players can think of this Trial as a very short dungeon or raid due to the number of required characters.

Having your FFXIV Gil hunter deal with AoE

The boss of this Trial is Rihtahtyn sas Arvina. This huge armored monster of a man is a Roegadyn general of the Garlean Empire. The battle with this general is quite easy compared to the first three Trials. Players will still need to stay focused and avoid the skills he uses. One of these allows Rihtahtyn to summon a ring of fire under a party member. While not heavily damaging, staying inside the ring will damage characters over time.

Another skill this boss uses is a point blank AoE missle barrage. Tanks need to be aware of this and move the boss to a different position when it is used. This helps protect melee damage dealers from damage.

Finishing the battle for FFXIV Gil

Once Rihtahtyn reaches 1/3 HP he will summon 2 adds. Damage dealers need to stay away from the gate as these mobs will spawn there. Tanks need to make sure to pull these mobs, although it is not necessary to focus them down. The boss will eventually go down and the party can get FFXIV items and loot for clearing the Trial.

Crystal Tower and Hildibrand Overview

Crystal Tower was the very first raid-like instance in Final Fantasy XIV. Coil of Bahamut was not really raid-like for me way back because it was just like a dungeon but double the number of people inside. Honestly, it was just like the Primal fights but of course,...
