GATEs for FFXIV Gil hunters

Every quarter past or before the hour, Final Fantasy XIV Gil hunters can participate in a Gold Saucer Active Time Event (GATE). The latter functions much in the same way as FATEs. The main difference is that they reward players with Manderville Gold Points instead of cheap FFXIV Gil. Additionally, GATEs have players participate in minigames instead of having them face off against bosses, hordes of mobs and the like. They are generally light hearted in theme and designed for fun.

As of writing there are five different GATEs that appear in the Manderville Gold Saucer. These are Any Way the Wind Blows, Cliffhanger, Skinchange We Can Believe In, The Time of My Life and Vase Off. Time is what determined which GATE will appear and where. GATEs appear either on the stage or elsewhere on the saucer.

Take a break from FFXIV Gil hunting with minigames

If you’re tired of farming for FFXIV Gil, then the minigames on the Manderville Gold Saucer can help you liven up. These are quick and easy ways to get MGP that are reminiscent of games often found in carnivals and arcades. Currently, there are four minigames that players can play.

Crystal Tower Striker is one of the minigames. This is patterned after the typical test of strength games using a hammer. Players will need to hit a button at the right time for this minigame. A similar strength game is Cuff-a-cur. The difference here is your character will be punching instead of using a hammer.

Monster Toss is another of the minigames available on the saucer. This is a game of timing themed after basketball free throws. Lastly, Moogle’s Paw is Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn’s variation of the ever popular crane game.

Rewards for your FFXIV Gil hunter

Manderville Gold Saucer Points can be exchange for a number of rewards. These include the Bunny themed armor, Gambler’s armor and more. Also available weapons and various minions. Lastly, players can also obtain the Fenrir Mount and Adamantoise Mount through the gold saucer.
