A new year has come to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and FFXIV account holders are celebrating with the Heavensturn Event. Alongside the event however is the Heavensturn Screenshot Contest. Through this competition, Final Fantasy XIV account holders can win FFXIV items for their FFXIV Gil hunters.

Take a picture of your FFXIV Gil hunter

Joining the contest is simple. Players simple need to take a screenshot of their Final Fantasy XIV Gil hunter. The picture must showcase how their character is celebrating the Heavensturn event. The image must then be uploaded to an online image hosting site and posted on the official forum thread. You can access the contest entry thread here.

Only one entry is allowed per person. In case of multiple entries, only the first entry will be considered. The screenshot must contain the character on the account that is joining the contest. Editing the image beyond cropping using image manipulation software is not permitted.

Dates FFXIV Gil hunters need to know

The Heavensturn Screenshot Contest runs from December 31, 2014 to January 18, 2015. Note however that the Heavensturn event will end earlier. The event only lasts until January 14, 2015. Winners of the contest will be announced on or around January 30, 2015.

Rewards for your FFXIV Gil

One hundred lucky winners will be chosen by the FFXIV Development and Operations Teams to receive a virtual prize. These lucky players will receive a Blue Bird Earring in-game. Note that the item can be traded amongst the characters on the account. It cannot however be traded to characters on a different account. The rewards will also only be given to the character on the account that posted the entry. That is, characters in the screenshot that are not on the account will not receive the item. As such, players who wish to win prize are advised to post their own entries.
