Pharos Sirius

How to get your FFXIV Gil hunter in

The Pharos Sirius dungeon is located in the Isles of Umbra in Western La Noscea. Final Fantasy XIV Gil hunters will need to take the quest Sirius Business to unlock this dungeon. The quest can be received from Diamanda in Aleport, Western La Noscea (x26, y26). Characters attempting the dungeon will need to have an average item level of 48 or above to enter. Additionally, only parties of up to four members are allowed in.

Corruption and your FFXIV Gil hunter

The first boss of the dungeon is Symond the Unsinkable and is the hardest fight on the Pharos Sirius dungeon. This is due to the Corrupted Crystal mechanic the boss fight employs. Throughout the fight, Symond will summon two adds that have an AoE attack and a spit attack. Both of these place a Corrupted Crystal stack on a target. Character who get three stacks of this will explode. This will deal a lot of damage as well as place a Vulnerability debuff on those caught in the explosion. The debuff will increase all damage received by the affected character.

Taking down Symond for FFXIV Gil

Symond himself has a straight line AoE attack that deals damage and places a Corrupt Crystal on players. To make matters worse, the boss will also cause two crystals to drop from the ceiling. This will then cause two crystal puddles to grow in the center of the room. Players caught in the puddle will receive damage as well as Corrupt Crystal stacks making them explode sooner. To win this battle, make sure to manage the crystal stacks, the adds on top of taking down Symond.

Crystal Tower and Hildibrand Overview

Crystal Tower was the very first raid-like instance in Final Fantasy XIV. Coil of Bahamut was not really raid-like for me way back because it was just like a dungeon but double the number of people inside. Honestly, it was just like the Primal fights but of course,...
