After gaining control of the Castrum Meridianum, an assault can be made deeper into the Ultima Weapon’s hiding place. Again it is up to brave FFXIV Gil hunters to be at the frontlines. To reach the weapon players will need to go through the Praetorium. Today’s guide will assist you in your preparations, whether you need to buy FFXIV Gil and items, and what bosses to expect.

Preparing your FFXIV Gil hunter

Whether you’re hunting for cheap FFXIV Gil, or just want to complete Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn’s main quest, you’ll need to prepare before entering the Praetorium. This dungeon is automatically unlocked as Final Fantasy XIV Gil hunters progress through the main story quests. Note however that players do need to complete The Ultimate Weapon quest. Additionally, players are advised to form a full party of eight characters before taking on this dungeon. Once prepared, the party can then head to Northern Thanalan (x15, y16) to enter the dungeon. They will then have 120 minutes to complete their run.

FFXIV Gil from the Colossus

Throughout this dungeon in FFXIV, players will encounter Magitek Terminals. These are critical to a good run in this dungeon as they act as the main means of transportation between the different areas of the dungeon. Note that some terminals will need a key to use, while some do not. When doing a speedrun, it is advised to skip taking out mobs if the terminal your group is heading for does not need a key. Otherwise, simply AoE the mobs and quickly grab the needed key.

After a few terminals your group will encounter the Mark II Magitek Colossus – the first boss of the dungeon. This is a simple fight. The tank simply needs to draw the boss towards a wall, making sure it faces AWAY from the group. The non-tank members of the group should position themselves behind the boss. Aside from avoiding the Magitek Ray AoE attack the rest of the fight should be straight tank and spank.

Suiting up your FFXIV Gil hunter

After the first boss, the next section of the Praetorium requires the party to wear Magitek Armor. Players will first need to give their characters authorization to use the armor from a control room. Next they will need to wear the armor and proceed through the rest of the dungeon. Note that armor is required to get through cemented doors and to destroy the packs of enemies that will be encounter. Replacement armor can be found as players go through this section.
