Players who wish to earn lots of FFXIV Gil for their FFXIV account will do well to take up crafting on their character. To take on a Disciple of the Hand class, they only need to reach level 10 with a Disciple of War/Magic class and talk to the appropriate Guild Receptionist.

Classes that can earn FFXIV Gil with crafting

Like all classes in FFXIV:ARR, a character need only equip the right tool to change into their crafter class. There are eight classes to choose from, each able to make items that can be sold for FFXIV Gil. The classes in no particular order are: Armorer, Goldsmith, Carpenter, Blacksmith, Leatherworker, Weaver, Alchemist and Culinarian.
