We can all agree that the best feature of any MMORPG is being free to explore the open-world as you wish. Other than cities and towns, you can stumble upon caves, hidden temples, ruins, dungeons, and other unlockable zones within the game. These zones are gold mines for different types of loot, which is why exploration is not only enjoyable, but also necessary to progress through the game. For today’s guide, we’ll be covering one of the dungeons in Final Fantasy XIV for FFXIV Gil hunters — Saint Mocianne’s Arboretum.

Saint Mocianne's Arboretum

Basic FAQs about Saint Mocianne’s Arboretum for FFXIV Gil Hunters

What is the level requirement to enter Saint Mocianne’s Arboretum?

For this dungeon, FFXIV Gil hunters are expected to be at iLevel 170. Equip the best — if not, at least the most decent — possible gear for your level at this point, and make sure to stack up on items when you buy FFXIV Gil!

Are the items drops worth collecting or selling for more than just cheap FFXIV Gil?

Since most the item drops are of iLevel 185, expect very unique helmet and chest models that you can equip your characters. Otherwise, they may be worth selling for a decent amount of Final Fantasy XIV Gil.

How do I survive Saint Mocianne’s Arboretum?

As with other dungeons, Saint Mocianne’s Arboretum has some interesting new mechanics and design, but you can apply what you have learned thus far from the game. Always remember the golden rule of dungeons: though your mobility may be limited, do whatever it takes to dodge any AoE abilities of the enemies you may encounter, and try not to take on too many enemies at once.

Unlocking Saint Mocianne’s Arboretum for FFXIV Gil Hunters

The quest can be found in Dravanian Hinterlands, with the quest name “An Overgrown Ambition”. It will be prompted once you talk to the NPC, Tetchy Treasure Hunter. The nearest aetheryte is Idyllshire, and from there, just walk out of the left entrance.

Arboretum First Boss: Morbol (Rose Hip) for FFXIV Gil Hunters

You have probably already encountered many mobs and looted many useful items already, so let’s skip to the first boss encounter in Saint Mocianne’s Arboretum. The Morbol periodically spawns small cute Morbols called Rose Hips that do a smaller version of the large Morbol’s frontal cone AoE damage (Bad Breath). Note that the large Morbol rotates around the room, continually dealing damage with its Bad Breath ability. Simply position yourselves away from the frontal AoE damage as it turns, and you’ll survive. Make sure to kill the Rose Hips immediately so the smaller cones’ damage do not add up to the large Morbol’s.

Arboretum Second Boss: Bee (Queen Hawk) for FFXIV Gil Hunters

Watch out for the bees that spawn outside the map. Yes, they spawn outside — which spells trouble, because they could be difficult to get rid off. Now, these bees shoot lasers straight down the path they’re looing. These two chunks of bees will always spawn in a cross-like formation, so pay attention to where they are and where they will shoot. If you’re within their range, move out of the way immediately. Again, kill the adds before they start to overwhelm you.

Arboretum Last Boss: Plant (Belladonna) for FFXIV Gil Hunters

The key to surviving this boss is timing your dodges. Dodge. Heal. Dodge. Heal. This is all you need to pass this boss, basically. Watch out for Belladonna’s gaze ability as it will ‘seduce’ your character into walking straight into one of the AoE circles, which explode and deal increased damage. Remember the mechanics: dodge and heal.

Repeat, and before you know it, you’re done!
