Primals are powerful entities that roam the world of Eorzea in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Fans of the series will recognize most of them as ‘summons’ in the older games. FFXIV Gil hunters face Primals in difficult Trials or dangerous FATEs, and defeating them will reward you with powerful weapons, unique armor, special mounts, and story / quest progression.
Leviathan for FFXIV Gil Hunters
Compared to some of the other fights like Garuda, Ifrit, etc., the final boss of Through the Maelstrom is a relatively easier, if not the easiest, Primal boss encounter unless you’re under geared. Note: you’ll need to challenge Leviathan’s Extreme incarnation in order to get any loot and Final Fantasy XIV Gil; otherwise, this encounter will simply progress the main story.
Facing Leviathan for FFXIV Gil Hunters
Even though considered as the easiest Primal boss encounter, you’ll still need to organize a suitable group so that this fight will not take too long and pose too much of a challenge. First off, you’ll need a switch pusher. When Leviathan prepares to use his TIDAL WAVE attack, you’ll need to push the switch in the middle of the arena to activate a shield, and everyone needs to gather beneath it to avoid heavy damage. It’s also advisable to gear up when you buy FFXIV Gil; one careless move can cause a wipe. Next up, you’ll need two tanks—one tank should take Leviathan’s head, and the other should take Leviathan’s tail once it pops up. Finally, as with the other encounters, always pay attention to the adds and kill them immediately. Yellow orbs deplete the shield’s energy, while Sahagin just get in the way. Kill the orbs first and then deal with the Sahagin before focusing on Leviathan again.
Defeating Leviathan for FFXIV Gil Hunters
Be wary of when Leviathan dips beneath the waves, as he’s either going to flop onto the deck and tilt it in one direction or the other, sending everyone flying to the “bottom” end of the slope, or SPINNING DIVE, which will whoosh either horizontally or vertically across the arena before plopping into the water on the other side. Most classes can actually survive a direct hit from this so this shouldn’t be a threat; however, it’s better to play safe. Have everyone gather in the middle of the arena to prevent unnecessary damage caused by Leviathan’s dive attack. This way, you’ll stay out of the way of Spinning Dive and simply slide to the side if Leviathan deck flops. The only other thing to watch out for is HYSTERIA, which forces players to run away. Avoid Leviathan’s area-of-effect markers and you should remain safe from this frustrating debuff. Continue what you’re doing and you’ll beat Leviathan in no time, rewarding you with loot that’s more than just cheap FFXIV Gil!
