Welcome to another walkthrough series, FFXIV Gil hunters! Today’s guide will cover the Void Ark in Final Fantasy XIV, unlocking the zone itself, bosses, secrets, tips, and loot you can get during your run. Find out more in the article below for the part two of The Shadow of Mhach: Void Ark guide!
Void Ark 3rd Boss: Cuchulainn for FFXIV Gil Hunters
We continue our guide with the next two bosses in Void Ark. Cuchulainn has a raid-wide bleed that increases in power the longer the fight goes. Healers should not hesitate to cast AoE healing. You can – and will – wipe if the DPS is really slow. Make sure each member of the raid has enough medicine which can be bought with Final Fantasy XIV Gil, in case they need to self-recover. Here are some points to remember when facing off against Cuchulainn:
- Avoid the vomit as this skill is deadly. There’s also no visible floor effect so be careful when walking around. It will kill you after only a few short seconds inside. You also cannot counter this with items purchased with FFXIV Gil.
- Pay close attention to when Cuchulainn’s tentacles raise up; go in between two tentacles so that you won’t get hit.
- The floor does turn to poison. Run to the nearest safety platform. There’s one in every corner.
- Kill the slime adds as soon as possible when they spawn. The boss will use a cone AoE, and once it hits a slime, he will eat it and gain a permanent damage+. Pull the slime adds away from the AoE if you cannot burst them immediately.
- Finally, the tank should front and run into the black ball once they’re near it. After a short duration, it will do a raid-wide damage, which the tank should mitigate. Afterwards, the tank should be healed either by the healers or with medicine purchasable when you buy FFXIV Gil.
Void Ark Last Boss: Mantis Melusine (Echidna) for FFXIV Gil Hunters
Next up is the last Void Ark boss, Mantis Melusine A.K.A. Echidna. Echidna casts a Petrification, so make sure to face away from her to prevent being immobilized and VUL UP. In case you do, don’t worry as it will wear off after a few seconds. Abyssal Reaper is a circular AoE with no floor effect. This AoE gives VUL UP to all people afflicted. Be careful of this and run out at once! Sickle Strike is basically a tank buster. Make your healers pre-cast heals, plus if possible, light tank mitigation. Once large arrows appear on a random raid member, have anyone stack with him / her as this is a shared AoE. Finally, three snake adds will appear throughout the fight. Two of which will be tethered. Ensure that they are far away from each other, and you’ll survive through this – easy peasy!
Boss Drops and FFXIV Gil Rewards
Echidna has the chance to drop Coffin Lid, a Furniture Crafting Item, and a minion called Wind-up Echidna. These are pretty decent, considering the lengths you’ve had to go to have them. At the end of your first Void Ark, every week you’ll get a Mhachi Farthing, which you can trade in Idylshire, with NPC Bertana, Wondrous Sundries I for Illuminati Gobcoat or Illuminati Gobtwine. Whether you want to keep them for yourself or sell them for more than just cheap FFXIV Gil, that’s entirely up to you! Either way, good luck with Void Ark, FFXIV Gil hunters! Until next guide!
