Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn players who are looking for Allagan Tomestones need not look further. These FFXIV items can be found in the A Relic Reborn: The Chimera Trial. Unfortunately, Final Fantasy XIV account holders will first need to dispose the boss of this Trial before they get their sweet loot.
Requirements before FFXIV Gil hunters can enter
FFXIV account holders going the A Relic Reborn quest line will come across the A Relic Reborn: The Chimera Trial. This level 50 Trial is designed for FFXIV Gil hunters with average item level 52 or above. Additionally, the Trial requires a full party of 8 players. It is advisable to bring along two healers, a class with stun and another class with silence into this Trial. When cleared, the Trial rewards players with Allagan Tomestones of Mythology and Soldiery along with Final Fantasy XIV Gil.
FFXIV Gil and AoEs everywhere
The boss of the Trial is the Dhorme Chimera. Those who have completed the Cutter’s Cry dungeon will find this boss familiar. For those who don’t be ready to run around the area as the Chimera has several AoE attacks.
First of all, the boss has AoE cone attacks that can come from the front, back and sides. It also has a point blank AoE that will damage those near it. What makes this fight challenging however are the patches of ice the Chimera will generate under a random party member. These linger and will make movement limited. Lastly, the Chimera will also occasionally target a party member and release a homing ball of lightning. This will detonate upon reaching the target and deal area damage. Targeted players need to get as far away from the party and hope their healer can quickly restore the health they will lose.
Save FFXIV Gil by avoiding voices
As mentioned earlier, a stunner and silencer are important for this Trial. This is due to the Chimera’s Dragon’s Voice and Ram’s Voice ability. The former deals heavy damage to all characters not at melee range. It can be cancelled with a stun however. The Ram’s voice on the other hand deals damage to those close by and can be prevented with silence. With these two abilities in mind, make sure to have a Paladin and a Bard in your party.
