New weapon quest for FFXIV Gil hunters

Patch 2.38 adds a new quest for the Saga of the Zodiac Weapons. Called Mmmmmm, Soulglazed Relics, the new quest allows FFXIV Gil hunters to improve their Novus weapons. The new quest requires players to first accomplish the Star Light, Star Bright quest. Note that only Final Fantasy XIV Gil hunters that have a level 50 class can take the quest. Lastly you will need a Novus weapon.

Getting your FFXIV Gil hunter a Nexus weapon

To get a Nexus weapon, a player first need to talk to Jalzahn in North Shroud(x29, y19) with a Novus Weapon equipped. Upon completion of Mmmmmm, Soulglazed Relics, the player will then need to choose the Novus weapon to apply a soulglaze on. Once the weapon is soulglazed, it can then earn “light” that will be needed to turn it into a Nexus weapon.

Getting light for your FFXIV Gil hunter’s weapon

Earning “light” for your soulglazed Novus weapon requires completion of various activities. These include completing dungeons, trials and FATEs. Light can also be obtained from Treasure Hunts, Alexandrite Maps, The Wolves’ Den and Frontlines. To check the amount of “light” your weapon has attuned, simply use a Zodiac glass. Depending on the Light Points, there will be a different indicator. This ranges from No Activity to Bursting Activity. Once enough “light” has been channeled into your Novus weapon, it will then transform into a Nexus weapon. These FFXIV items are much more powerful and often provide boosts to the character’s statistics.
