Your FFXIV Gil hunter against a giant

The second boss Final Fantasy XIV account holders will encounter in the Wanderer’s Palace is the Giant Bavarois. This boss uses Fire often so make sure your Final Fantasy XIV Gil hunter has FFXIV items that can resist this element. The Giant Bavarois also focuses on a random party member from time to time so everyone needs to be on the alert.

Another tactic the boss uses that players need to watch out for are the four Barvarois adds that the boss will summon. The blue Barvarois needs to be taken out quickly as it will heal the boss. FFXIV Gil hunters need to take down the rest of the adds afterwards. White Mages also need to be alert when the adds are around as they place debuffs on the party.

Facing the king for FFXIV Gil

The last boss of the dungeon is the Tonberry King. Players will remember this monster from old Final Fantasy games and can expect the fight to be just as difficult. This is primarily due to the adds during the boss fight. As you engage the Tonberry King, small Tonberries spawn around the room and slowly move towards the king. Killing these adds put a stack of Rancor on the king which increases its damage output. The king can then use Everybody’s Grudge that will damage based on the number of stacks it has.

Keeping your FFXIV Gil hunter alive

To keep the boss’ damage from overwhelming the tank and healer, the party needs to make sure the boss does not have more than three stacks of Rancor. If it does, wait until it casts Everybody’s Grudge before killing any of the adds. Players also need to note that the Tonberry adds will start attacking part members once they reach the boss, making kiting them necessary. Worse, at 25% HP, Tonberry Slasher adds will spawn that can one-hit kill characters if they get too close. Consistent focus on the Tonberry King and good management of the adds is critical to victory in this fight.

Crystal Tower and Hildibrand Overview

Crystal Tower was the very first raid-like instance in Final Fantasy XIV. Coil of Bahamut was not really raid-like for me way back because it was just like a dungeon but double the number of people inside. Honestly, it was just like the Primal fights but of course,...
