Being able to play Final Fantasy XIV on both Playstation and PC is remarkable. Being a game that requires a group of friends to play with, the probability of enticing friends to play this MMORPG is higher because it eliminates the machine preference of each or the capability of every one to have either or both PC or PS4. Final Fantasy XIV covered both market and letting both play the same game. The question is, for Final Fantasy XIV, which is better? PC or PS4? Let’s find out some comments.

Question came into mind when I read the post of majoraswhore in Reddit:

“Final Fantasy XIV…PC or PS4?

I’ve been thinking about this game since it’s $30 on SE’s website for everything. Would the PS4 version or PC be better? For pick up and play? I just got a PS4 and I’m looking for games to add. I have a decent pc with a Core i5-3570k and a GTX 770. Tips?”

Comments have been great on majoraswhore’s question and here are some of the really good ones:

  • The biggest would be that you can parse on PC which is not possible on PS4.
  • If PSN is down you also can’t login to FF14 on PS4 a very minor disadvantage from the PS3 and PS4 version.
  • If you raid with people who run Voice Com like TS it’s a slightly bigger hassle to do it if you play PS4.
  • The only real benefit is that, given your PC is powerful enough, you can run the game at higher resolutions and/or at higher frame rates.
  • I tried both and settled on ps4. Being able to remote play using a vita is almost worth it alone.

I am personally playing FFXIV in PC because I have a super capable PC and I don’t have a PS4 but I have a friend who is playing it in PS4. I find it incredible that he is playing there because I really think that MMORPG’s are meant to be played on a PC (with a keyboard and mouse). Though I did anticipate that my friend will have a hard time keeping up since keyboard to gamepad is a real big difference, he actually was able to play properly and very well (he was our main tank in our raid group). It was actually really impressive. But basing on the comments I read and personal preference, I still think that playing on PC is much easier and proper in playing FFXIV.
