Our last guide covered the second boss of the Labyrinth of the Ancients. Here in the third part of the guide we will look at how to handle the Vassago mini-boss encounter. We will also guide new and old FFXIV account holders through the third boss of this dungeon in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

Labyrinth of the Ancients

Dealing with Vassagos on your FFXIV Account

Before Final Fantasy XIV account holders encounter the third boss of the raid, they will first need to deal with the Vassago mini-boss encounter. This involves three Vassagos and a bomb. For this fight, players will need to keep the Vassagos away from each other and the bomb; ideally tank them at the edge of the room. Periodically, Napalm and Balloon mobs will spawn. The Napalms should be focused down quickly, as massive raidwide damage will be dealt if they reach the bomb. Tanks should also be wary that the Vassagos will occasionally use a ground AoE. Simply move out of its area of effect and pull the Vassago along. Once the Vassagos are down, kill the bomb and you can then move on to the third boss.

Towers FFXIV Account holders need to watch

Final Fantasy 14 account holders will notice four towers upon entering the room with King Behemoth. Tanks should be assigned to each tower and monitor it. Periodically throughout the fight, the towers will glow. At this point, the assigned tank must interact with its control panel to discharge it. Doing so will prevent the towers from getting a full charge. This is critical because the towers will release massive raidwide damage if they reach full charge and can wipe the raid. Healers should take note that the periodic discharge will slowly chip at the tanks’ health.

Facing Behemoth on your FFXIV Account

During the boss fight, players will be marked and a comet will land on their position after a few seconds. These comets will need to be protected from the Iron Giant and Bomb mobs that will spawn throughout the fight. The reason for this is that it is the only way to avoid getting wiped due to King Behemoth’s Meteor skill. Once the boss casts this skill, hide behind the meteor and line of sight the boss. Players not hiding behind a comet will instantly be killed. Keep these mechanics in mind and slowly dwindle down the boss until it is defeated.
