It is understandable if a World of Warcraft player transfers to another MMORPG like Final Fantasy XIV. Though not a weird occurrence, we still would like to know why these players do switch games.
Final Fantasy XIV Gil: Root of This
A post by Jcorb in Reddit says:
You know what’s great about FFXIV? Let me tell you…
Fucking. Everything.
Even though I still with the Au Ra had been a bit more muscular, and I’m not sure about the voice-changes, I just like logging into FFXIV. The armor and weapons are immaculately details, there’s a steady stream of new content, it seems to cater to all kinds of playstyles… honestly, it has become one of my favorite games.
And tonight, I’m supposed to spend my night on WoW, because I’m an officer in a long-standing raiding guild. And I could not absolutely despise the game any more, even with them just having introduced a new patch today. I just really do not give a shit anymore.
So, against all odds, I think FFXIV has finally overthrown WoW, for me. Really eager to get leveled up and experience the new story.

We can derive from Jcorb that World of Warcraft got a little old for him. Nicer graphics and new content are the two main reasons he says FFXIV is more worth playing than WoW. Even though he holds big responsibility in his guild in World of Warcraft, the attraction that Final Fantasy XIV brings is far too strong.
A comment on this post reaffirms that Final Fantasy XIV’s visuals is so amazing. He also added that the story is also worth paying attention because he got absorbed into it while he was leveling. The community aspect also is in his term, “phenomenal.” Maybe lesser toxic than compared to WoW merited this? LOL
This post of Jcorb attracted many comments and most of them agree with him that indeed Final Fantasy XIV stole many players from World of Warcraft.
