Investment – it’s a word that MMORPG enthusiasts hold in high regard. Investing in an MMO means you gamble away your time and money on something that you expect some payoff from. In an MMO, the time and money you’re investing must convert to a good amount of fun on your end. Is FFXIV worth investing in?
With the emergence of Free To Play (F2P) MMORPG’s, people are more likely to be deterred to play Pay To Play (P2P) games. Whether it be Buy To Play or a subscription model, like Final Fantasy XIV, MMORPG’s that need players to shell out cash to play are at a disadvantage in terms of attracting players.
Investing Time in FFXIV
There is one example of a player in Reddit interested in playing Final Fantasy XIV but is hesitant to because of the monthly subscription:
“A few weeks ago, I tried the trial and I loved the game, but I still wasn’t sure if I sure invest in it since it is subscription based and I didn’t really know how active the player base is. So my question is if this game is active enough to justify dropping $13 every month.”
So basically, if it weren’t for the subscription model of Final Fantasy XIV, he would jump over the game. This is a complete example of P2P games to be the underdog in terms of player acquisition.
People – People Everywhere!
There are only a couple response on the post as of the moment like, “Very active!
But somewhat depends on the server. If you ever join feel free to come to cactaur and I’d be happy to help out.” But if I were to answer in the thread, I would say that it is worth it to invest $13 every month just to play Final Fantasy XIV and here’s why:
- Amazing graphics and gameplay
- It’s Final Fantasy (not a fanboy)
- Big population with really active community
- Intense dungeons and raids end game
- Customizations of character and housing
- So many jobs and classes to max level
- Addictive
I can also say that with him not having a problem about the time for playing Final Fantasy XIV, $13 per is nothing compared to the experience and fun playing!
